Last Friday, February 9th, 2018, Aristeo continued our tradition of giving back to the community during The Heat and Warmth Fund 2018 Winter Survival Radiothon. Alongside our client, DTE Energy, and many other volunteers, Aristeo employees answered phones and collected donations to help THAW raise an amazing $1.4 million in one day.
This radiothon, much like the telethon Aristeo also volunteered at last fall, raises funds to support THAW’s mission to provide utility assistance to Michigan families in need. The 2017-2018 winter season in Michigan has been colder than average, but no matter the average temperatures, about 40% of households in the state struggle to afford energy throughout the winter, according to THAW’s website.
These statistics are what drive Aristeo employees to volunteer their time for THAW. The day of the 2018 Winter Survival Radiothon, much of southern Michigan was under a winter storm warning, but Aristeo employees braved the weather and made it to the WWJ Newsradio 950 Studio in order to help.
Thank you to the THAW team for the opportunity to support their important mission. It is always a great experience working with THAW and we look forward to volunteering at future events.
